It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of
our beloved Danny after a short but fearless battle with cancer. He
was 69. He passed away peacefully on Thursday June 13th in the loving
arms of his wife of nearly 50 years, Jan.
Danny was born in Yarmouth Nova Scotia and subsequently
lived and worked in Ontario. Danny was a skilled contractor and could
build or repair anything. He and Jan retired in 2005, dividing their
time between PEI and Florida. Although retired, Danny kept
up working and building right up until he became ill. He and
Jan were avid golfers and played in many locations around the
world, and when he wasn’t golfing he loved to watch
it on tv. He also loved to play crib. Danny was
well loved for his ability to sit down with anyone and make them feel
like best friends even if they had never met.
In addition to being Jan’s loving husband, he was
the dear son of Blanche Moulaison and the late Larry
Moulaison. He was an amazing brother to Joy (Keith) and the
late Michael. He will be missed by his brothers and sisters
in law Gary, Sharon (Peter) and Norma (Rick). He will be remembered
fondly by his nieces and nephews Leslie, David, Matthew, Sarah
(Jordan), Raymond and the late Jamie. He was loved by his many aunts,
uncles and countless friends.
A private cremation has taken place. There will
be a celebration of Dan’s life Sunday, June 16
between 2-4pm at the Northport Community Centre, Highway 152,
Northport PEI. All family and friends are welcome to
join.
The family is very grateful to the health care
professionals and the excellent facilities that supported Dan in his
journey. In recognition of the compassionate and excellent
care Danny received, donations to the O’Leary Community
Hospital Palliative Care Program would be appreciated by the family.
